McIntosh C52, MC452, MT10, & Sonus faber Amati Futura
The McIntosh MT10 has been extremely well-received by both our customers and our staff. It marries the classic McIntosh glass panel with serious motor-mechanics to create a really solid turntable. The turntable platter is a 12 lb. 2.5” thick acrylic platter spinning on a cushion of air, elevated by a custom magnetic bearing. Reducing vibration further is a super quiet Swiss DC motor, and a custom tone arm tube gimbaled for minimum friction. The sound is superb.
For the preamplifier, we chose the feature-packed McIntosh C52. McIntosh made sure you could connect any and all of your analog and digital sources. Fully assignable balanced and unbalanced analog inputs, your choice of moving-magnet or moving-coil phono inputs make it easy to get the best sound from your vinyl. On the digital side, the C52 will decode and playback the latest DSD and DXD high performance digital files, easily decoding the latest high-definition audio recordings. A terrific headphone section, and a home theater pass-through provide the flexibility to use your system the way you want, when you want.
To power this great system, we chose the most powerful McIntosh stereo amplifier, the MC452. This new amplifier uses the latest advancements in circuit design to improve their iconic Quad-balanced noise reduction circuit. The Autoformer and PowerGuard circuits lets your speakers receive maximum power while preventing clipping that could damage speakers. It's a dynamic, accurate amplifier that is a perfect sonic match for our Amati Futura loudspeakers.
The Sonus faber Amati Futura is the third embodiment of "Amati." The Amati Futura is a tall 3-way tower speaker with beautifully finished wood sides (or gloss black), a leather-covered front baffle, and a mirror-smooth metal top and bottom trim. The sound is as clean and luxurious as the cabinet's fit and finish. The Amati Futuras welcome the dynamics and power of the McIntosh system, delivering a sound that is smooth, yet energetic, with a loving presentation of acoustic and instrumental tones. The system is at Paragon Sight and Sound, ready for your audition.
