JL Audio | Fathom In-Wall Subwoofers
The same minds that engineered JL Audio's reference grade Fathom® and Gotham® powered subwoofers have created amazing in-wall subwoofer solutions, centered on purpose-engineered, thin-line drivers with patented technology.
The results are in-wall subwoofer systems fully worthy of the Fathom® name, with outstanding low frequency extension, dynamics and sound quality—and all the signal processing features of their in-room counterparts.
Born from the same groundbreaking technologies used to develop their free-standing powered subwoofers, the Fathom® IWS in-wall subwoofer systems deliver remarkable bass performance, while remaining largely concealed within most home audio/theater environments.
Each Fathom IWS system consists of one or two in-wall cabinets, plus an outboard, rack-mountable amplifier.
The Fathom IWS systems are available as single or dual subwoofers, in 8" or 13.5" drivers.
The 8-inch Fathom® IWS systems are smaller and easier to integrate than the larger in-wall Fathoms, fitting in all standard, 16-inch, on-center stud openings, and operating through very small grilles. These grilles accommodate all common drywall thicknesses, and can be easily painted to match the wall.
Housing the 13.5-inch Fathom IWS system's exotic driver is a critically engineered enclosure with a unique floating mount design to minimize wall excitation. The enclosure features extensive architectural features aimed at improving rigidity while keeping a very low profile and minimal wall thickness.
Each Fathom in-wall system is powered by a rack-mountable amplifier, capable of generating up to 1 kW watts (model dependent) of clean power and can drive up to two enclosures.
A complete set of Fathom® signal processing features is also onboard, including JL's powerful, 18-band Digital Automatic Room Optimization (D.A.R.O.) system, all managed via an easy-to-use, menu-driven interface and LCD display.
