It seemed only natural to name the absolute Reference Vienna Acoustics has ever created in homage to one of the most thrilling artists the city has ever unleashed – a man whose immense achievements in visual art were profoundly inspired by music.

OVERVIEW

Gustav Klimt started with the creation of the Beethoven Frieze for the Viennese Secession in 1897. The Secession was no dogmatic federation espousing artistic „rights“ and „wrongs“; rather, this was a group of forward thinkers – with Klimt on top – exploring new departures in creation, urging artists of every persuasion – architecture, painting, music – to come together for the sake of progression.

Standing for the unconventional, for freedom from constraints of any kind, Klimt created a worldwide symbol for Jugendstil.

The Beethoven Frieze ranks among the major works of the Viennese Jugendstil and can only be comprehended in the context of this age and as a product of it – an age shaped by tendencies toward new departures in art, by an interest in international connections and by the attempt to bring the various arts together.

The Frieze belongs to the most significant creations of Gustav Klimt, such as „The Kiss“, and the devoted music lover´s – and avowed Beethoven admirer´s – masterpiece „The Music“.

Art would never be experienced in quite the same way again.

Passion, skill, leadership, innovation, vision, harmony, teamwork: the words that evoke Klimt and his Art were also always target for Vienna Acoustics and the company’s latest achievement, the first model out of the Klimt Series, „THE MUSIC“.

FEATURES

Revolutionary Driver Technology

The Vienna Acoustics THE MUSIC introduces an innovative 18 cm (7-inch) flat, concentric driver designed to achieve exceptional phase coherence, spatial accuracy, and natural musical reproduction.

By reproducing seven octaves of music from a single, time-aligned acoustic plane, this remarkable driver creates a coherent wavefront reminiscent of ripples spreading across still water. The result is an exceptionally realistic soundstage, revealing spatial information and musical detail with extraordinary precision.

This patented technology builds upon Vienna Acoustics' extensive experience developing reinforced loudspeaker cones that maximize structural rigidity while minimizing moving mass.

Patented Flat-Cone Construction

Traditional flat diaphragms can present challenges in achieving sufficient rigidity without adding excessive weight. Vienna Acoustics addresses this through its patented lightweight, single-sided reinforcement structure.

Rather than relying on heavier sandwich constructions, the design incorporates precisely engineered ribs on the rear of the cone. By carefully controlling their number, shape, thickness, orientation, and placement, Vienna Acoustics can fine-tune the diaphragm's mechanical behavior and impulse response.

The cone material is based on TPX thermoplastic, blended with additional proprietary materials to achieve an optimal balance of stiffness, internal damping, and low mass.

Using finite element analysis, Vienna Acoustics founder and chief designer Peter Gansterer developed a sophisticated radial reinforcement pattern that distributes structural support exactly where it is needed. This construction creates an exceptionally rigid, flat radiating surface designed to minimize unwanted phase shifts across the driver.

The cones are produced by Vienna Acoustics in Austria, with complete driver assembly performed by Eton in Germany.

Coaxial Music Center

At the heart of THE MUSIC is its advanced coaxial Music Center, combining the flat midrange diaphragm with a specially designed silk dome tweeter featuring a neodymium magnet system positioned at its center.

This concentric arrangement allows a broad range of frequencies to originate from a common acoustic location, contributing to exceptional phase coherence, precise imaging, and a remarkably natural soundstage.

The Music Center is housed in its own dedicated enclosure, physically separated from the bass system to reduce unwanted interactions and preserve clarity throughout the critical midrange and high-frequency spectrum.

Powerful, Precisely Controlled Bass

Beneath the Music Center, THE MUSIC incorporates a separate, carefully engineered bass enclosure housing three proprietary 25 cm (approximately 10-inch) bass drivers.

These drivers feature Vienna Acoustics' ultra-rigid NAWI cones reinforced with patented Spidercone technology and manufactured by Eton in Germany.

Designed to reproduce frequencies from 18 Hz to 100 Hz, the bass system utilizes a sophisticated arrangement in which the two lower drivers operate in parallel to deliver the deepest bass frequencies, while the upper bass driver functions within its own dedicated chamber.

This configuration provides exceptional low-frequency extension, dynamic impact, and precise control while maintaining seamless integration with the coaxial Music Center.

Extended High-Frequency Performance

THE MUSIC also incorporates a dedicated supertweeter manufactured by renowned high-end driver specialist ScanSpeak.

Utilizing piezoelectric technology, this specialized driver extends high-frequency response from 20 kHz to an extraordinary 100 kHz.

Vienna Acoustics selected this technology for its dispersion characteristics at ultrasonic frequencies, allowing the loudspeaker to maintain an exceptionally open and expansive high-frequency presentation.

Adjustable Music Center & Room Optimization

One of THE MUSIC's most distinctive design features is its independently adjustable Music Center enclosure.

The upper cabinet is mechanically decoupled from the bass enclosure through a precision-engineered aluminum swivel joint, allowing adjustments to both rake angle and toe-in.

This innovative arrangement enables listeners to optimize the loudspeaker's directional characteristics for their specific listening environment.

Rather than creating a narrowly defined listening sweet spot, the adjustable Music Center allows for a broader, more accommodating sweet zone.

Similar to directing a beam of light, the coaxial point-source enclosure can be precisely aimed toward the preferred listening area, allowing greater flexibility in speaker positioning and room integration.

This adjustability also helps manage early room reflections, which can interfere with the direct sound and diminish perceived clarity, imaging, and spatial accuracy.

Exceptional European Craftsmanship

THE MUSIC reflects Vienna Acoustics' commitment to combining advanced acoustic engineering with exceptional European craftsmanship.

Its sophisticated multi-enclosure construction serves both acoustic and aesthetic purposes, while the carefully selected materials and precision manufacturing demonstrate the attention to detail found throughout Vienna Acoustics' most ambitious designs.

Available in an elegant Sapele wood veneer finish, THE MUSIC combines timeless styling with an unmistakable architectural presence.

Experience THE MUSIC

From its revolutionary coaxial driver technology and sophisticated bass system to its adjustable Music Center and extraordinary high-frequency extension, Vienna Acoustics THE MUSIC represents a distinctive approach to high-end loudspeaker design.

Every element works together to reproduce music with remarkable clarity, spatial precision, dynamic authority, and natural expression.
