With these few words elegantly crafted and prominently presented above the entry of the famous Secession located within Vienna´s city center, the beginning of Jugendstil was begun. The Jugendstil was no dogmatic federation espousing artistic rights and wrongs; rather, this was a group of forward thinkers exploring new departures and destinations in creation. At their foundation was the urging of every persuasion including architecture, painting and music, all combining for the sake of progression.

OVERVIEW

As the art movement´s most significant contributor and father, Gustav Klimt has been forever immortalized into the art fabric that is Vienna.

Passion, skill, leadership, innovation, vision, harmony, teamwork: the words that evoke Klimt and his Art were also always target for Vienna Acoustics and the newest release paying homage to Klimt´s masterpiece, „THE KISS“.

FEATURES

Reference-Level Performance in a Refined Design

Following the introduction of its flagship Klimt Series™ loudspeaker, The Music, Vienna Acoustics developed The Kiss, a more compact design that maintains the same uncompromising commitment to musical performance.

Like its larger counterpart, The Kiss incorporates Vienna Acoustics' revolutionary patented Flat-Spidercone coincident driver system. This innovative design reproduces seven critical octaves of the musical spectrum from a single, phase-coherent acoustic plane, delivering exceptional clarity, spatial accuracy, and natural sound reproduction.

By minimizing the mechanical interference and phase inconsistencies commonly associated with conventional driver arrangements, The Kiss creates a remarkably open and coherent soundstage. Its sophisticated design also offers exceptional placement flexibility, allowing listeners to optimize performance for a wide variety of listening environments.

Patented Flat-Spidercone Technology

At the heart of The Kiss is Vienna Acoustics' proprietary Flat-Spidercone technology, developed through decades of research into lightweight, reinforced loudspeaker diaphragms.

Traditional flat cones lack the inherent rigidity necessary for accurate sound reproduction. Vienna Acoustics addresses this challenge with its patented Spidercone reinforcement structure, which incorporates strategically positioned ribs on the rear surface of the diaphragm.

By precisely controlling the number, shape, thickness, orientation, and placement of these reinforcing elements, Vienna Acoustics can optimize stiffness, minimize moving mass, and carefully tune the driver's impulse response.

Unlike conventional sandwich or honeycomb constructions, which can introduce unwanted weight, the Spidercone design achieves exceptional structural rigidity while maintaining the low mass necessary for fast, accurate response.

The diaphragm utilizes Vienna Acoustics' proprietary X3P composite material, engineered to provide an optimal balance of stiffness, internal damping, and lightweight construction.

Using advanced finite element analysis, Vienna Acoustics founder and chief designer Peter Gansterer developed a sophisticated radial reinforcement pattern integrated directly into the flat cone. This precisely engineered structure helps minimize unwanted phase shifts across the driver's radiating surface.

The cones are manufactured by Vienna Acoustics in Austria and combined with a specially handcrafted silk dome tweeter featuring a neodymium magnet system positioned at the center of the coincident driver assembly.

Advanced Bass Driver Engineering

To complement the Flat-Spidercone coincident driver system, Vienna Acoustics developed an entirely new 23 cm (9-inch) bass driver specifically engineered for extended low-frequency performance.

Featuring a patented ultra-rigid NAWI cone reinforced with Spidercone technology, this driver combines exceptionally low moving mass with outstanding structural stiffness.

The design was refined through finite element analysis to optimize strength, responsiveness, and control, allowing The Kiss to reproduce deep bass frequencies with remarkable precision and dynamic authority.

This advanced driver technology works in conjunction with carefully selected crossover components and Vienna Acoustics' proprietary modified first-order crossover design.

The resulting system emphasizes phase coherence, seamless driver integration, and exceptional musical detail, delivering both clarity and power throughout the frequency spectrum.

These engineering advancements allow The Kiss to reproduce an expansive, naturally layered soundstage with a sense of scale and spatial realism rarely associated with stand-mounted loudspeakers.

Precision-Engineered Crossover Design

The Kiss incorporates a sophisticated crossover network designed to preserve the integrity of the musical signal while ensuring seamless integration between its coincident driver system and dedicated bass driver.

Vienna Acoustics employs carefully selected, high-quality crossover components within a proprietary modified first-order circuit layout.

This approach prioritizes phase coherence and natural frequency integration, contributing to exceptional transparency, accurate instrumental placement, and a remarkably cohesive listening experience.

Adjustable Music Center & Room Optimization

One of the most distinctive features of The Kiss is its independently adjustable upper enclosure, known as the Music Center.

Like the flagship The Music, The Kiss features a dedicated, sealed Music Center enclosure that is mechanically decoupled from the bass cabinet.

A precision-engineered aluminum swivel joint connects the two enclosures, allowing adjustments to both rake angle and toe-in.

This innovative arrangement gives listeners greater control over the direction and focus of the soundstage, helping optimize imaging, spatial presentation, and overall performance within the listening environment.

By physically separating the coincident driver system from the vented bass enclosure, Vienna Acoustics minimizes unwanted interactions between low-frequency energy and the delicate midrange and high-frequency information reproduced by the Music Center.

The result is exceptional clarity, naturalness, and musical coherence, with the flexibility to tailor the listening experience to the room.

Elegant European Craftsmanship

The Kiss reflects Vienna Acoustics' dedication to combining advanced loudspeaker engineering with exceptional European craftsmanship.

Its distinctive multi-enclosure design is both visually striking and acoustically purposeful, highlighting the precision and attention to detail found throughout the Klimt Series™.

Every cabinet is crafted to exacting standards, with carefully selected materials and beautifully executed finishes that complement the loudspeaker's sophisticated engineering.

The Kiss is available in two elegant finishes:

  • Piano Black Lacquer: A deep, lustrous finish offering a timeless, contemporary appearance.
  • Sapele Wood Veneer: A richly textured natural wood finish that highlights the warmth and beauty of fine European craftsmanship.

Experience The Kiss

Combining Vienna Acoustics' patented Flat-Spidercone technology, advanced bass driver engineering, precision crossover design, and adjustable Music Center, The Kiss delivers a remarkable combination of musical accuracy, dynamic performance, and spatial realism.

Designed for listeners who demand reference-level performance without the footprint of a larger floorstanding loudspeaker, The Kiss offers an exceptional balance of sophisticated engineering, placement flexibility, and timeless design.
