Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Baby Grand Reference Floorstanding Speaker

At the heart of the design stand Vienna Acoustics’ brandnew spidercone drivers, one 6 inch midrange and two 6 inch woofers, all with their patented flat spidercone within a new construction, consisting of 2 distinct cones – the all new Composite Cone. The plane surface of the spidercone offers the advantage of precise, piston-like movement. Any diaphragm should move in and out as one unit, not as a quivering mass of uncorrelated vibrations. It should move as a perfectly-solid piston. The flat cone is extremely stiff, with bracings of a height of 18 mm (bass) and 14 mm (mid), yet light, respectively, further reinforced by glasfibers in their new X4P™ mixture.

Advanced Composite Cone Technology

At the heart of the Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Baby Grand Reference™ is the manufacturer's innovative Composite Cone technology, engineered to deliver exceptional accuracy, clarity, and natural musical reproduction.

The carefully designed rear bracing distributes impulse energy evenly across the entire surface of the flat diaphragm. This ensures that every section of the cone moves uniformly, resulting in precise impulse response, improved control, and remarkable sonic detail.

The driver incorporates a large voice coil and a substantial central radiating surface, both of which play an important role in its acoustic performance. Through extensive development and listening evaluations, Vienna Acoustics refined this unique construction into its proprietary Composite Cone design.

A defining feature is the 5 cm inverted dome at the center of the diaphragm, constructed from woven fabric with a double-coated rear surface. Extensive testing determined that recessing this dome by 8 mm produces exceptionally balanced and homogeneous sonic results.

The woven fabric center also complements the material characteristics of Vienna Acoustics' hand-coated silk dome tweeter, creating a natural and cohesive relationship between the drivers.

Exceptional High-Frequency Performance

Like its larger counterpart, the Beethoven Baby Grand Reference™ features Vienna Acoustics' exclusive hand-coated silk dome tweeter, designed by the manufacturer and handcrafted by a specialized Scandinavian team.

This advanced tweeter reveals even the most delicate musical nuances with exceptional clarity and natural ease. Its extended frequency capabilities allow for seamless integration into the midrange spectrum, delivering a beautifully balanced presentation.

The result is an extraordinary combination of resolution, musical warmth, and effortless reproduction that preserves the character and emotion of every performance.

Precision-Engineered Crossover Design

The Beethoven Baby Grand Reference™ features a sophisticated crossover network that combines the elegant simplicity of first-order, 6 dB-per-octave filters with carefully implemented second-order Bessel filter characteristics.

Every component and circuit layout is selected and refined through extensive listening evaluations to ensure seamless integration between the drivers.

This meticulous approach produces exceptional tonal balance, precise instrumental timbres, and a remarkably cohesive soundstage.

Vienna Acoustics founder and designer Peter Gansterer plays a central role in the development and refinement of the crossover system. His extensive listening evaluations help shape the loudspeaker's distinctive combination of musical harmony, clarity, and dynamic expression.

European Craftsmanship & Cabinet Construction

The Beethoven Baby Grand Reference™ continues Vienna Acoustics' tradition of exceptional European craftsmanship, combining advanced acoustic engineering with timeless design.

Its carefully engineered cabinet features a scientifically optimized internal bracing structure designed to minimize unwanted resonances and maintain structural rigidity.

An independent, airtight enclosure houses the Composite Cone midrange driver, isolating it from the internal pressure generated by the bass drivers and helping preserve clarity and precision throughout the midrange frequencies.

The exterior reflects the same uncompromising attention to detail, offering the natural warmth and beauty of genuine wood veneers alongside the remarkable depth and elegance of premium piano lacquer finishes.

Rediscover the Beauty of Music

The Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Baby Grand Reference™ brings together advanced driver technology, meticulous crossover engineering, and exceptional craftsmanship to create an immersive and emotionally engaging listening experience.

From delicate instrumental passages to powerful orchestral performances, every detail is designed to bring listeners closer to the music.
