Audio Research

Founded in Minneapolis in 1970, Audio Research is one of the oldest continually operating audio manufacturers in the US. Their longevity is due in large part to a commitment to the core values of advancing high-fidelity sound reproduction through best practices. Never one to push technology for technology’s sake, Audio Research was also at the forefront of reintroducing vacuum tubes (and their inimitable sound quality) at a time when solid state had become the norm. In 2009, Audio Research became part of the Fine Sounds Group, now known as the McIntosh Group. This prestigious parent company comprises Audio Research, McIntosh Labs, Sonus faber, Sumiko, and Wadia Digital.
