Funk Vector III Turntable

The original Vector has been winning awards since its launch in 2005. Ongoing development and refinement has resulted in the Vector III. Its retro-modern appearance is more than a fashion-statement - its aesthetic reflects its philosophy: organic and minimalist. This turntable encompasses all that is necessary in a turntable - the ultimate statement in fundamental utility.
The primary operating feature of this table is its Vector Drive system. A three-point pulley belt drive system, the Vector Drive's pulleys rotate the platter with equal concentric energy. This point system prevents the typical 'tugging' problem associated with conventional belt drive systems. Unlike a conventional belt drive, the bearing is no longer pulled hard in just one direction, the drive is balanced and linearized. This produces less work for the motor, so that the current delivery is smoother, resulting in a more-even turning of the platter.

One other notable feature is the body material which acts as the base for the platter and arm. Called the Achroplat II, this substance improves on normal acrylic to provide non-resonant support. Very hard, and very highly polished.
Funk Vector III is available in metallic brown, black (pictured above), and white (pictured below).

Funk FX-R II Tone Arm

An upgrade from the F-X cartridge arm, the FX-R II has a patented damping system found only in the Funk 'arms.' Updates from its predecessor include internal re-wiring, a new precision machined pillar to replace the older plastic offering, and a VTA adjustable base.
The VTA base is available in two versions. Version I: standard VTA base for Funk FXR arms. Version II: designed for use with Rega arms, namely those with mounting "wings."

Lack of grounding in the older model has been revised, the signal is now protected by a coherently earthed tube. Multiple cartridges can easily be changed with a new simple cartridge mount systems. The arm beam has also been updated. Arm material consists mainly of carbon fiber.

New! Wilson Audio Alexandria XLF Loudspeaker

Alexandria XLF joins the Alexandria family, not as a replacement for the Series 2, but as its even more ambitious sibling. The new XLF clearly resembles the original Alexandria's form factor, but its architecture has evolved to support new technology. It is physically larger, with 14% greater bass volume. The bass enclosure's cabinet walls are thicker for even greater resonance. XLF refers to the new Alexandria's Cross Load Firing port, a unique passive bass management system.
The Alexandria has always been a loudspeaker with extended linear bass performance. But now in the XLF version, the location of the port can be optimized for the room. The Cross Load Firing port System on the Alexandria allows the installer to choose either front-firing or rear-firing bass port configuration. The choice depends on the room characteristics. The default configuration has the bass port installed in the rear. Since the system is completely passive, it avoids the sonic pitfalls symptomatic to all active bass management systems.

Wilson also developed a new tweeter for the XLF. The midrange baffle is constructed from Wilson's proprietary S-material. A new crossover and a host of parts - each included as a result of exhaustive experimentation listening trials. The Alexandria XLF starts from the lofty foundation of musicality and resolution established by the Alexandria Series 2, and improves upon its predecessor's performance in every musical parameter: greater dynamic contrast, better harmonic expression, improved and more consistently implementable bass performance, and increased linearity.
